Business Intelligence Architect

Exempt Level Position: Requires 45-50 hours per week

Position Summary:

This position requires a Professional with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing enterprise skills with a proven track record of success, aptitude, and leadership.  The position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step into different roles depending on the size and scope of an engagement.  The qualified candidate would have proven experience developing successful Business Intelligence solutions. This individual will also have responsibility for technical activities regarding multiple products. This includes the design, configuration and implementation of solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Ability to facilitate senior management level driven discussions to identify organization wide Business Intelligence initiatives
• Provide business knowledge regarding best practice in areas including but not limited to, Governance, metadata management, transparency of data, data quality and the unification and implementation of a BI vision across the organization.
• Responsible for identifying opportunities through analysis of data and transforming business intelligence into action plans and providing strategic recommendations for improvements at the business and technology unit level
• Tracks and prioritizes projects through coordination and negotiation with client to improve the efficiency of information/project plan generation
• Performs strategic data analysis (data mining) and research as appropriate to support business needs
• Develops action plans to address areas for improvement identified through data analysis and business expertise and works with other staff to communicate action plans to client

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of strong technical knowledge of data warehousing principles including, database design and implementation, administration and implementation of metadata tools, security, user interface designs
• Design, development and deployment of dashboards, analytics, and performance management solutions
• Excellent understanding of dimensional data modeling using relational tools
• Very good understanding of multi-dimensional database and OLAP design and architecture
• Proven ability to develop business requirements and translate them into a data warehouse dimensional model
• Proven experience developing physical, logical, and presentation layers technical designs
• Proven experience developing dashboards, reports, and analytical applications using Dashboard and Answers
• Strong working knowledge and experience with ETL/Data integration to include tools
• Strong working knowledge of designing and implementing relational star-schema database models.
• Project Management experience
• Excellent written, verbal and customer presentation skills
• Ability to work well in a dedicated team environment and provide structured thought leadership
• Ability to manage and track critical deliverables to successful completion
