Exempt Level Position:        Requires 45-50 hours per week

 

Position Summary:

The Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for hands-on technical pre sales  support and post sales implementation consulting. (50% billable).

 

This position will be working very closely with Account Managers to drive business related to specific Line of Business (LOB) offerings within new and existing accounts in addition to having responsibility for technical post sales consulting activities regarding applicable Network Systems products.  This includes the design, configuration and implementation of Network solutions.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

·         Provide engineering expertise in the pre- and post-sales environments

·         Conduct technical sales presentations to customers

·         Architect solutions for customers based on their business and technical needs

·         Perform client consulting in the area of network engineering (hardware and software) using routers, switches, network security devices, protocol analyzers, TCP/IP, VPN, Frame Relay, and MPLS

·         Design, plan, and implement LANs and WANs using the latest technology

·         Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems related to LANs/WANs

·         Conduct throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning

·         Participate in various client projects intended to continually improve/upgrade network infrastructures

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years experience in infrastructure/network environments, with experience in network engineering (hardware and software); designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology
  • Working knowledge of security solutions such as Fortinet, F5, Checkpoint or Cisco security solutions
  • Experience designing and implementing IDS/IPS solutions
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCDP or other equivalent Manufacturers certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of security specialty areas such as policy, disaster avoidance and recovery planning, technical investigations, or risk analysis
  • Experience implementing policy-based design for firewalls a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Self motivated to expand and develop personal and professional skills
  • Ability to manage and track critical deliverables to successful completion
  • Ability to travel throughout the state of Wisconsin
