Position Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer will be
responsible for hands-on technical and pre-sales support and post sales
implementation consulting. (50%
billable) This individual will work very
closely with Account Managers and Lines of Business Managers to drive business
related to AE’s offerings within new and existing accounts in WI. The
Engineer applies expert knowledge and skills to deliver secure, fault tolerant,
scalable, and flexible server and SAN infrastructures. This individual will also have responsibility for technical
activities regarding multiple products. This includes the design, configuration
and implementation of solutions to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide
engineering expertise in the pre and post sale stages
- Builds in-depth knowledge of clients' technical
priorities, challenges and initiatives - maps those needs to AE’s core offerings
and competencies
- Responsible for architecting and proposing (i.e.
presentations) technology solutions, along with implementation of
services, that meets customers' business and technical needs
- Responsible to ensure that proposed solutions
when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the
customer
- Oversee
installation and implementation of assigned products including coordination
of vendor participation
- Builds value-added relationships within the
domain of new or existing accounts to become the trusted technical advisor
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum
of 3 years HP-UX experience
- Knowledge
in Solaris, AIX, Linux is a plus
- Knowledge
in HP Unix virtualization technologies is a plus
- Preferred
candidates will hold an HP CSA or CSE certification
- Candidate
should have a working knowledge of HP Integrity server hardware
- A
Vmware VCP certification and 3 years working
knowledge is a plus
- Enterprise
Systems Management experience with products such as OpenView
(HP Software)
- Candidate must
have working experience with SAN and NAS architecture, back-up and recovery
software, tape technology and RAID storage products
- Project
Management experience
- Excellent
written, verbal and customer presentation skills
- Ability
to work well in a dedicated team environment and provide structured
thought leadership
- Solid
organizational and time management skills
- Self
motivated to expand and develop personal and professional skills
- Ability
to manage and track critical deliverables to successful completion
- Bachelor's
degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent
experience acceptable
- Ability
to travel throughout the state of Wisconsin
